Priyanka Dangol

Chair

With 5 years of MUN experience, Priyanka knows the playing field all too well. Having won several awards and also attended an international MUN conference, her ears and eyes are constantly alert—ready to correct wrong information. For sincere and hardworking people, she’s the sweetest person ever, but one wrong move is enough to get you on her bad side. She might look short and cute but she’s a bundle of energy just waiting to burst into action. The committee will never get boring or lose momentum with her as your chair.

Priyanka, lovingly referred to as “penguin” in the A-Level community, lives up to her nickname. She’s the only person in the exec board that will waddle around to make sure that things are done appropriately. Don’t take this waddling lightly though, she will waddle to you and show you your rightful place if you get on her nerves. She has the worst sense of humor and will make the most awful and cheesy puns, but you’ll have to laugh at them if you want to win any awards – JK, she’s actually very fair and unbiased.

She expects her delegates to be serious about the issues being discussed in committee; additionally, she wants them to be fun-loving and ready to take on challenges. Photobombing is her ultimate hobby, so if you think you’ve taken a successful solo selfie in the committee, think again; she’ll most likely be lurking somewhere in the background holding up a ‘peace’ sign.

Pranay Chand

Vice chair

Pranay may tower over most delegates and seem slightly daunting, but he is definitely as close to the BFG as you can get. He has sheer passion for debating, especially in regard to MUN events. He is extremely friendly and is ever-ready to help out the delegates, who need only look past his intimidating figure and get the courage to ask their questions. His knowledge and fluency regarding global affairs is immeasurable – unlike anyone else’s for sure. Chandu, as he is fondly called, is unrivaled in arguments and will always have a witty remark up his sleeve that will leave you silent and speechless.

As he is a pro FIFA gamer, do challenge him if you’re up for a difficult yet thrilling game. He is also great source for Clash of Clans tips, and you daren’t mess around with him because he wouldn’t hesitate at all to roast you.  Affable and approachable, he is the kind of company who could instantly lighten up any dreary situation. His eccentric gestures may freak you out in the beginning, but that’s Pranay for you.

A qualified debater with numerous MUN awards to be found on his “wall of fame”, delegates will be lucky to have such an amazing vice chair (who makes an even better friend). The delegates will have to meet his high expectations and he anticipates them to strive for perfection.

Prajita Niraula

Moderator

Adroit and adept at virtually everything she sets her mind to, this MUN fanatic can find a way to accomplish anything. Hard work and efficiency are synonymous to her very nature. Having already gathered 4 MUN experiences in less than 2 years, she knows exactly what a MUN committee entails— regarding its discussions, debates and resolutions. And delegates, don’t let that petite stature of hers fool you. She’s an innate leader who expects everyone to bring on their A-game and act like professional, productive delegates in the committee. Remember not to raise any drivel ideas or points whilst the session is in full swing because that is something which will surely set her off. During the MUN event, you may witness Prajita getting all hot-headed, but it isn’t something you should fear as it will only happen if you persistently pester her (though it’s a real pleasure to get on her nerves).

Looking past her slightly daunting qualities, Prajita is a vibrant and vivacious person. She knows exactly how to make the committee session dynamic and exciting. And if you’re looking for any guidance or have any doubts, Prajita is the first person you would want to go to.

Just a suggestion for delegates in her committee—whenever the motion for entertainment is raised in the committee, be sure to make your moderator show off her mad dancing skills!
